Visiting the elderly at the Anand Ashram on Bannerghatta Road
Children, parents and staff have just returned to school after having a wonderful trip to the Anand Ashram, where the Kara HSR team visited the elderly earlier today, bearing smiles, friendship and gifts.
It was a particularly exciting expedition as everyone left the routine of a normal week day behind, to travel together on a new adventure; a convoy comprising Kara’s KiNDERbus, followed by several parents/grandparents - including Neeharika’s Mum (3+), Sanjana’s Grandmother (3+), Mehr ‘s Grandfather (2+), and Ajays’s parents (5+) - along with their cars; a special thank you to you all for accompanying us :)
The Ashram is extremely well maintained, which was a most pleasant surprise, and its staff and residents went out of their way to make all feel welcome, even singing ‘Nanne Munne Bache’ to our little ones, who in return sang ‘We Shall Overcome’, plus more . . .
The children naturally had many questions; who lives here and why? All of which were suitably answered by the Kara team; “their family live far away and can't take care . . . it's nice to live together with friends”, and more . . .
It was then time to distribute the gifts so generously donated by Kara's parents. At this stage several of the recipients commented that they had never before seen such little ones coming and sharing with them; taking so much interest. This was indeed a true delight to hear; the objective for this initiative having been fully achieved, confirming Kara’s Kommunity Day to be an overwhelming success!
Once again our sincere thanks to the whole Kara community at HSR - for your amazing support - ensuring smiles on the faces of both young and old.
